A bunker surcharge, also known as bunker adjustment factor (BAF), is the charge shipper's incur to compensate for fluctuating fuel prices and is typically in addition to other surcharges and fees added to the freight costs.

OOCL performs regular reviews of bunker costs. As a result of a recent review, changes in the bunker surcharge are reflected below:

The above adjustment has been made from current level of US$325/20’ and US$650/40’, expiry date 3rd March, 2018. The new BAF tariff will be applied based on shipment onboard date.

Whale regularly monitors freight rates and inform our customers, subscribers and blog readers of applicable changes. To see other news visit our blog, or subscribe to our newsletter for weekly news content.
