Ocean Freight News - NE Asia General Rate Increase & Bangladesh Heavyweight Charge - July 2019

OOCL will implement an Overweight Charge (OWC) for routes between AU/NZ and Bangladesh; Vanguard to implement a General Rate Increase (GRI) for NE Asia routes.

Vanguard will be implementing a General Rate Increase for all cargo received on or after 1 August 2019, travelling within North East Asia - from China, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan and Japan, and Australia. The charges are as below:

  • 12W/M (w/m = 1cbm/1000kgs)

This increase will apply to all international FCL and LCL ocean freight shipments in NE Asia travelling on Vanguard vessels.

OOCL has also implemented a Heavyweight Charge (OWC) for 20’GP and 20’ RF container from Australia and New Zealand to Bangladesh destination at the quantum of USD150 per 20’, for cargo weight 15,000 KGS or above. Effective date 5th August 2019 based on onboard date.
