Transport Additional Surcharge (TAD) for Sydney containers that must be off-loaded in Melbourne/Brisbane

Transport Additional Surcharge (TAD) for Sydney containers that must be off-loaded in Melbourne/Brisbane

HIT

The industrial action in Sydney port is causing operational disruption which is delaying vessels from being able to berth in Sydney. Some shipping lines vessels are not stopping in Sydney until further notification.

Which means these vessels have Sydney containers discharged in Melbourne/Brisbane.

To help mitigate the additional operational costs associated with moving the containers from Melbourne/Brisbane to Sydney a Transport Addition surcharge (TAD) will be applied by OOCL, ONE LINE and we expect other shipping lines will follow.

Transport Additional surcharge (TAD) amount will vary depending on shipping line.

In general terms, we suspect that it will range as follows;

USD 250 - 400 per 20ft container

USD 500 - 700 per 40ft container
